I strive for art to meet function in my work. I believe that beautiful things do not have to be on the top shelf for special occasions only. Use beautiful things everyday! There is joy in reaching for the right mug to match or bowl to match my mood. For this reason, my focus is on functional pottery. I first fell in love with clay while taking an elective pottery course in college. It wasn't until about a decade and a half after my degree in education that I returned to clay on the wheel. My learning journey has included years of studio classes, workshops, and private classes as well as opportunities to share my work with others through various venues and events.
